Amidst Arne Slot’s Cody Gakpo and Luis Diaz predicament, Liverpool stars give away some team news against Wolves.
When choosing his starting lineup for Liverpool ahead of their match against Wolves at Molineux, Arne Slot has an abundance of alternatives at his disposal.
On Saturday night, Arne Slot leads his Liverpool team to a match against Wolves. Before Liverpool’s match against Wolves, Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister have both hinted at early team news. On Saturday afternoon, Gary O’Neil’s squad and the Reds will square off at Molineux as they both attempt to move up the Premier League standings.
Liverpool will be playing at 5.30 p.m. on the heels of a 5-1 victory against West Ham on Wednesday night in the Carabao Cup third round. Ever since they lost to Nottingham Forest at Anfield earlier this month, Arne Slot’s team has bounced back spectacularly, winning their previous three games. In the meantime, Wolves will be hoping to get back on track after suffering a 3-1 loss to Aston Villa in the English Premier League last weekend. However, Mac Allister and Szoboszlai have both shared visual pre-match previews of the match to their Instagram accounts, giving the impression that they will play. That usually means that both of them will be participating, in one way or another. Controversially, though, Gakpo—who was added in the middle of the week to allow Luis Diaz some rest—might not start against Wolves.
The Colombian international has begun Liverpool’s opening five league games of the current campaign. Prior to the game, Slot discussed his challenge in selecting the ideal front-line with media. “It says two things to me,” the Reds manager remarked. One thing it says is that these players are really good; moreover, it says that the team always creates opportunities for the players we are choosing for that particular game. “If we play Lucho [Luis Diaz] or Cody [Gakpo], the team is setting up these players’ opportunities, and because they are so good, they can convert these into goals or assists. To me, that’s what it says.
