Super League play-offs form guide: St Helens AWFUL while Hull KR, Wigan Warriors look ominously good.

After the Super League regular season ended, there were only six teams left in the running to play at Old Trafford.

This week’s matchups pit Warrington Wolves against St Helens and Salford Red Devils against Leigh Leopards; the winners of the League Leaders Shield, the Wigan Warriors, and second-place Hull KR, will have a week off before their respective home semifinals the following weekend.

But each of the six teams has a different record going into the playoffs, which is why it’s so important to have a strong run of play going into these elimination games.

Here is an in-depth look at how each team in the playoffs have fared in their last five matches.

Wigan Warriors: 5 wins

The Warriors hit a tiny slump in the middle of the season, however they quickly rectified this to end the campaign in glowing form. Matty Peet’s side won all five of their final regular season fixtures, including the crucial victory over Hull KR to all-but confirm top spot.

Although the Red Devils have only won three of their last five games going into the playoffs, it hasn’t all been easy lately. Nevertheless, with their roster overhaul, they nearly eliminated Wigan in the game. They have combined this with a massive 118-14 overall victory over Huddersfield and Hull FC.

Leigh Leopards: 4 wins, 1 loss

After seven rounds, it appeared as though Leigh would be battling it out at the bottom of the table, but they have completely turned around their season and are expected to make the playoffs for a second straight year.

One of the best sides in the Super League right now, Adrian Lam’s squad enters the playoffs having won four of their last five games, including the thrilling 16–12 victory over Warrington.
