‘I will go’: Sky Sports pundit now predicts the score when Leeds face Coventry at Elland Road

Leeds United return to Elland Road against Coventry City this afternoon, and David Prutton predicts a competitive contest.

Leeds United want to make it two victories in a row in the Championship, following a 2-0 success over Cardiff City. Prutton accurately predicted the score.

Coventry marks the beginning of a difficult run of fixtures in the coming weeks, with away trips to Norwich City and Sunderland following. Sheffield United plays the first game following the international break.

Despite Coventry’s terrible start to the season, Leeds cannot afford to underestimate their opponents. Last season, the Sky Blues were one of just four clubs that remained unbeaten against Daniel Farke’s squad.

Farke has announced that Leeds would be without Manor Solomon for the encounter, and Pascal Struijk’s involvement will be decided later.

Prutton predicts Leeds vs Coventry score

In his pre-match press conference, Coventry manager Mark Robins praised Leeds’ squad but acknowledged his own ability to devise a winning strategy.

As previously stated, Coventry took four points from Leeds last season, when Farke had the likes of Crysencio Summerville and Georginio Rutter at his disposal.

Leeds will now rely on the ingenuity of Wilfried Gnonto, Brenden Aaronson, and Largie Ramazani, all of whom have proven to be capable deputies for that combo.

On the newest episode of the ‘Essential EFL’ Podcast, Prutton backed his previous team, Leeds United, to win the match.

He stated, “I’m going to Leeds to win 2-1.”

Predicted Leeds XI to face Coventry at Elland Road

Farke is not anticipated to make many changes, despite his extensive injury update on Thursday afternoon.

Struijk’s availability remains a major concern. With two away games coming up next week, it might be best to rest him here, given his injury history in 2024.

If that is the case, Ethan Ampadu will most likely be forced to slide into the back four, while Max Wober is also injured and may require surgery.

That could allow Ao Tanaka to make his entire Leeds debut. Ilia Gruev would subsequently take on the holding role, but the rest of the XI remained unchanged.
