Burnley are preparing for a tough week, with three games in the span of seven days.

Tomorrow, Scott Parker’s team will face Oxford United in the Championship, aiming for their third consecutive win.

The Clarets will face Plymouth Argyle on Tuesday night, followed by a home encounter against Preston North End on Saturday.

While Parker agrees he needs to keep an eye on what’s coming up next week, the focus is on tomorrow’s trip to Kassam Stadium.

“We concentrate on Oxford first,” he stated.

“I’m not one to look ahead of this game, but I’m aware of what we’ll face the next week and the short turnaround.

“Obviously, Saturday-Tuesday is a tight turnaround, but we also have an early kick-off against Preston, so we’ll have to keep an eye on that.

“But the main focus is putting the best team out there, building the squad that is best suited to the weekend’s game and trying to get the three points.”

Parker has expressed satisfaction with Burnley’s recent free weeks, despite the turbulent transfer window.

“They’ve gone very well,” he explained.

“I’ve said it before, but it was another clean week where we could put in some good work with the guys, go over some things from the weekend, and continue to develop areas of our game that we want to improve.

“Clear weeks are beneficial for us at this stage in our development. I know we’re just around the bend from a hectic one next week, but it’s been another excellent week. The guys have worked hard, listening and building.

“To be quite honest, these weeks have been helpful. When you have a hectic week with a midweek game, you’re basically just healing, preparing, and recovering for the next game, so the amount of work you can really accomplish on the grass is extremely restricted, and the majority of your work comes from the meeting rooms.

“These weeks are really important for us to get some practical work into the team.”
