Sunderland top six chances outlined as Opta predicts final 2024/25 Championship table

A final, predicted Championship table has been released by Opta. But where do they rank Sunderland?

Going into this weekend, Sunderland sit in 2nd place of the Championship table, just one point behind West Brom in 1st.

Regis Le Bris’ side continue to impress in the league following a confident 1-0 win vs Middlesbrough last time out.

Real Madrid and Manchester United target Chris Rigg is stealing the headlines following his backheel goal vs Boro.

But several other first-team players are proving to be very impressive this season, including the likes of Jobe Bellingham and Romaine Mundle to name a couple more.

Le Bris is of course taking plaudits as well. But the Frenchman is keeping very reserved when discussing his side’s chances this season.

Opta predicts final Championship table

It’s only six games into this new season. But we’re starting to get an early indication of which teams will be fighting at which end of the table.

And so far it looks like Sunderland will be fighting towards the top end of the table, eyeing up a return to the Premier League following their relegation in 2017.

There’s others looking very strong too, like West Brom of course, and others who could be slow burners like Leeds United and Burnley.

Sharing their predicted final Championship table for this season, analysis website Opta has predicted West Brom to win the league and Leeds to finish in 2nd.

Then Burnley in 3rd, Sheffield United in 4th, and Sunderland in 5th, with Middlesbrough making up the rest of their top six.
