Jamie Vardy proved why Van Nistelrooy was 100 percent right about him after Leicester City hammered by Brentford

The Premier League match between Brentford and Leicester City on Friday night did not go as planned.
Fans’ hopes of the Foxes putting up a fight for safety have been dashed, despite their half-decent performance against Arsenal the previous Saturday.
During the match, Leicester supporters turned against Ruud van Nistlerooy and demanded that the manager be fired.
Over the course of the ninety minutes, some players significantly underperformed.
The whole backline against the Bees was in utter disarray, with the possible exception of Woyo Coulibaly.
Jordan Ayew and Bobby De Cordova-Reid both had dull, uninspiring outings, and Wilfred Ndidi was far from his best.
Longtime employee Jamie Vardy was one of Leicester’s few bright spots against Brentford.
Van Nistelrooy commended Vardy for his leadership qualities toward this Leicester team in a statement made late last month.
It’s challenging to look to the future, but when I consider a 38-year-old striker in the Premier League playing at his current level, with his fitness levels, his deft movement in and out of possession, and the leader he is for us, it’s incredible,” he remarked.
“I think he can continue for a long time based on the way he takes care of himself.”
The 38-year-old was one of only two players who genuinely appeared to care about the game and were making an effort to rally throughout the thrashing at Brentford, demonstrating his leadership in full.
Vardy put in a lot of work, and even though it wasn’t his best performance, he proved Van Nistelrooy correct. He once again demonstrated that he would sacrifice everything for the team and that he is doing everything in his power to guide the Foxes out of this relegation battle.
