Club CEO suggests that Celtic might bring the player back in January. This summer, Brendan Rodgers’ side negotiated

We reported on Belgian reports in July that Celtic was considering Michel-Ange Balikwisha. Additionally, it was reported that Brendan Rodgers spoke with the Royal Antwerp player.

During the summer transfer window, Celtic was unable to sign the 23-year-old. He is still with the Jupiler Pro League team, where his contract runs through 2026.

The Gazet van Antwerpen from Friday suggests that Celtic may have another chance to get his services.

Sven Jaecques, the CEO of Royal Antwerp, discussed the forward in a thorough interview with the publication. He was sidelined with an injury in July’s 1-0 victory over Charleroi SC, but he did not play again.

Gazet van Antwerpen notes that the assailant, desiring a change of scenery, was let to depart. They questioned the official for the Jupiler Pro League team about his decision to stay.

“We knew it was going to be difficult because Balikwisha was down with an injury,” he remarked.

“Two teams, Celtic and Rennes, continued to negotiate in an attempt to maybe still sign him, but we know that these clubs would much prefer concentrate on January in the interim. He needs to get back as quickly as possible and in good health, after which we’ll see what transpires.

Throughout the previous season, Balikwisha primarily played on the left wing, finishing with 10 goals and 8 assists from 44 games across all competitions.

The lone new attacker to sign for Celtic Park during the most recent window was Adam Idah. In January, Brendan Rodgers’ team might make a comeback for Balikwisha.
