Martin has ‘no worries’ about Dibling’s mentality amid hype

Martin has ‘no worries’ about Dibling’s mentality amid hype.

As Tyler Dibling’s 18-year-old reputation soars across the country, SAINTS boss Russell Martin maintains he has “no worries” about

the 18-year-old’s mentality.

Born in 2006, Dibling scored his first goal as a senior in the 1-1 draw with Ipswich Town after making an impact against Manchester

United the previous game.

The Saints Academy alumnus was the team’s top player in the preseason and currently leads Martin’s Premier League squad in goals

scored.

After his breakthrough season, Dibling, who has a contract with St. Mary’s through 2026, is expected to draw interest from all of the

premier clubs in England.

But Martin says he doesn’t worry about Dibling being grounded in the midst of all the excitement before the matchup with AFC

Bournemouth.

He said: “He has an incredible belief in himself in a really nice, humble and modest way. He has to just keep living at 100 per cent.

“He needs to comprehend where it is and what has brought him this far. His family, in my opinion, makes up an excellent support

system for him.

“We have put a lot of trust in him, and he has earned it. We must convey to him that dealing with younger players isn’t always easy.

He was not able to play for every team right now. He really fits the style we play, and he’s making great progress in the areas he has to.”

Martin went on, “He needs to keep growing and being so hungry. That’s always a problem, in my opinion, with young players who

climb quickly.

“To preserve their modesty and their will to grow, learn, and advance. But I don’t think that will be an issue with Tyler.

“As long as he keeps his sense of self, his character, and his personality, he’s such a calm and confident boy in the kindest way.

“I don’t have any concerns about him if we can assist him and his family in doing that. Age shouldn’t matter if he is doing effectively

and in form.

Adam Lallana, 36, who made his Saints debut when Dibling was just a few months old, is expected to make a big difference, according

to Martin.

“I believe it played a role in Adam’s introduction. It had a significant role in that, both on and off the pitch, according to Martin.

“He is someone who is particularly demanding with the young boys on the training pitch and who is aligned in his vision of the game and his own ideals.

“On the training pitch, he’s perhaps the only guy I know who complains more than I do—but in a far better way than I did. They pay

attention when he speaks.
