Régis Le Bris confirms concerns and a possible double injury boost for Sunderland Update on

At Watford, Ian Poveda will rejoin the Sunderland team, and Régis Le Bris is hopeful that Alan Browne may follow.

Poveda’s career at Sunderland has been erratic thus far, and Le Bris thinks this is mostly because he arrived late for the preseason. Due to a thigh ailment, he hasn’t been able to play for the last two squads. However, after training last week, Le Bris thinks he can now get past those bothersome concerns. Alan Browne missed the 1-0 win over Middlesbrough with a knee ailment but the club were always hopeful that the issue was not significant and he might possibly be involved on Saturday. If not, there’s a good chance he’ll be able to play when Derby County and Leeds United visit the Stadium of Light next week.

Le Bris stated, “Ian and Alan are almost ready.” “With Browney, it will depend on how he feels, but Watford may be able to use him. Ian ought to be fit for Watford. Ian was without a team for an extended length of time, and this can affect you. You may miss a week or two if you are uncomfortable. He is currently going through a phase when he will need a week or two, along with one or two impressive games, to start feeling confident. I have faith in him.

fresh signee Due to his efforts to regain match fitness, Aaron Connolly will not be available for selection for the next week. Le Bris also does not expect to give deadline-day signing Samis Abdul Samed his debut until after the international break.

Even though Samed is making decent recovery from a minor injury, Le Bris believes the club isn’t willing to take the chance of creating new problems by pushing him too soon.

“I’m not sure when Salis will be able to play,” Le Bris remarked.

“He feels fine, but given the type of injury he is recovering from, he runs the risk of reinjury if he pushes himself too hard too soon.” We are currently unsure of his exact return date, but I believe it will likely be following the international break.”
