Which Premier League club Evangelos Marinakis wants Nottingham Forest to be.

With nine points from five games, Nottingham Forest has gotten off to a very strong start in the 2024–25 Premier League season.

It’s interesting to note that the Reds have drawn with Wolves and Bournemouth in their two games played at the City Ground thus far.

According to the most recent article, Marinakis believes Aston Villa should serve as a role model because the West Midlands team qualified for the Champions League the previous year.

After gaining promotion from the Championship, they were eligible for the Conference League four years later, and Marinakis wants Forest to compete in Europe as well.

While Forest isn’t planning on playing in Europe just yet, a successful run of results might swiftly alter expectations following a great start to the season.

Marinakis deserves lots of praise for Forest efforts

Errors have surely been made in the past. If Forest had been demoted last season after receiving a four-point deduction, the management of the team would have been held accountable.

Although it wasn’t ideal to sign 30 players after getting promoted, Marinakis has learnt a lot from the fiasco.

He has since installed reliable recruiters, and the club has prioritised quality over quantity in the last two summer transfer windows.

Even his detractors at Forest should commend Marinakis. Now that he’s working to stabilise the football team, it’s clear he wants to stay at the City Ground as well.

It will be difficult to emulate Villa, but the teams aren’t all that different, so it will be interesting to see what can be accomplished this year.
