After a summer of heated speculation, Adam Idah completed his major move to Celtic from Norwich City.
Celtic paid £9.5 million for Idah after he impressed Brendan Rodgers on loan, scoring crucial goals that helped them win the league and Scottish Cup last season.
Now at Celtic, the Republic of Ireland international striker has revealed how different training is at Celtic vs Norwich City.
Adam Idah participated in Norwich City’s pre-season but struggled to earn playing time after the management change. In his debut start for Celtic against St Mirren this season, he appeared rusty.
‘Intense’ Celtic training prepares Idah for the season ahead.
Now over two months into his second term at Celtic, Idah has revealed how different training is at Parkhead compared to Norwich City, and his views shed insight on why he appeared off the pace in his first few appearances for the green and white Hoops.
Idah confirmed to the Daily Record, “Yeah, 100%.” Look, I didn’t do anything throughout the preseason.
“Before anyone jumps on it, that wasn’t me throwing it or anything; it was just how we practiced down in Norwich.
“Obviously, it’s not as intense down there as it is here, but we’re at huge clubs and want to be on it.
“So yeah, when I initially came, I was maybe a week behind, but now that I’m getting the minutes in, I’m beginning to see goals. I feel fine right now, and I’m probably not far behind. I simply need to stay at it and I’ll get there.”
Celtic training is beginning to pay off for Adam Idah.
Idah has now returned to his best form, and he was unfortunate not to score his first goal of the season against Hearts as his effort was called offside.
