According to journalist Ben Jacobs, Daniel Farke may rely on a “incredible” Leeds United player who has yet to make his debut.
Leeds manager & transfer news
The Whites have made a strong start to the Championship season, but are still sixth in the table. Farke is not confident in his employment.
West Brom manager Carlos Corberan has been suggested as a possible replacement for the German manager, if the 49ers Enterprises decide to make a change. It is a move that may seem harsh, given that he led Leeds to the playoff final last season and is still in the top six now.
Aside from management news, Elland Road saw an up-and-down summer transfer season, with Farke losing three key players in Archie Grey, Crysencio Summerville, and Georginio Rutter.
On the plus side, Leeds made many crucial additions, including Joe Rodon from Tottenham, Largie Ramazani from Almeria, and Ao Tanaka from 2. Bundesliga side Fortuna Dusseldorf.
Journalist backs “incredible” Leeds man to be key
According to Jacobs, Tanaka has the potential to be a major player for Leeds United under Farke, even though he has yet to start a game.
“Ao Tanaka could be a key role in turning Leeds’ fortunes around. They required another centre midfielder with an engine and defensive abilities.
“Brenden Aaronson will be vital, and he has already scored a few goals, but Tanaka is the type of disciplined presence Leeds may want. “I believe he will become a regular starter sooner rather than later.”
