Exciting Tottenham star hits out at critics and admits it’s nice to’shut up a few people’.

James Maddison has been pleased with his own efforts this season and is hoping that his goal against Brentford would “shut up” some of his doubters.

Maddison is proving his doubters wrong

Upon his comeback from injury layoff, Madison’s play as an attacking midfielder had drastically soured in the latter half of the previous season, raising some questions and concerns about the player going into the next one.

Many questioned how the 27-year-old would handle things at the beginning of the season because he had previously experienced the disappointment of not making the England squad for the Euros.

The former Leicester City player has undoubtedly provided a thorough response, reflecting on his most animated and inventive moments at the beginning of the new season.

Against the Bees, Maddison put on perhaps one of his best performances while wearing a Spurs shirt, capping off an impressive showing with a well-executed goal.

However, there are games where you feel like you’re playing excellent build-up and contributing to the team’s success, but you don’t receive a goal or an assist to show for it.

“But on the other hand, I love scoring goals and it was a nice feeling. And then people start questioning the numbers, so sometimes you have to take the outside noise with a pinch of salt.”

Although it has been a while, I believe I had to revive the old darts celebration because it felt so amazing in

When Madison, an attacking midfielder who can open up defences with his vision, cleverness, and passing, is at the top of his game, we are clearly a much stronger team. He has perhaps been our finest player thus far this season.
