Despite his “football and technical weaknesses,” Eintracht Frankfurt is showing interest in Leeds United right-back Rasmus Kristensen, and the German team may soon look to sign him to a long-term contract.

Daniel Farke, the manager of Leeds, had challenges during the summer transfer window once again, including two loan terms that remained in effect after a year in the Championship.

One of those was Rasmus Kristensen, who left the team once more on loan to Eintracht Frankfurt following a lackluster time at Roma.

Eintracht Frankfurt hopes to quickly establish a permanent Rasmus Kristensen arrangement.

Kristensen’s tenure with the Bundesliga team is already paying off; he has made an impression on the management team by starting frequently in the league.

With Kristensen playing every minute of the four league games Eintracht have played thus far, they have won three, lost one, and played a complete ninety minutes in the DFB-Pokal.

Due to his performance, there have been internal talks at the German club; according to Fussball.news, there are intentions to talk about a long-term contract with Leeds.

They both agree that the Dane’s leadership qualities are helping to make him a well-liked figure, even with his “football and technical weaknesses” that have been demonstrated thus far.

Frankfurt wants to renegotiate a more affordable arrangement because they have a £10.8 million buy option in place:

“Eintracht’s purchase option is valued at around €10.8 million, or €13 million. However, fussball.news reports that the Frankfurters wish to renegotiate with Leeds United. Since Kristensen’s contract expires in 2026, Eintracht is hoping to further reduce the price.

 

“Ideally, the right-back will remain with the Frankfurters for the long haul. Undoubtedly, the beginning was rather successful.

Leeds would undoubtedly consent to a permanent sale of Kristensen shortly.

It would be considerably more advantageous for Leeds to have his future resolved and his departure confirmed as soon as possible if the clubs can quickly come to an agreement.

Frankfurt may soon realize that his current form could be a passing fad, as he has proven over the course of two seasons in top flight leagues that he is just not good enough.

The preceding story does show Frankfurt are aware of his technical inadequacies, but that tolerance might wear off after a while.
