In other developments, Orlando Pirates’ qualification for the CAF Champions League has earned Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Manqoba Mngqithi high praise.

For the first time since 2018, the Buccaneers are back in the group stages of Africa’s top club championship.

This comes after Jose Riveiro’s team defeated Jwaneng Galaxy with ease in the last qualifying round, winning 3-0 overall.

Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa, a frequent participant in the CAF Champions League, will join Orlando Pirates.

Manqoba Mngqithi, the head coach of Downs, has now shared his thoughts on the Buccaneers’ victory. See what he said by scrolling down.

The Pirates’ group stage appearance pleases Sundowns coach.

“Let me start by congratulating the Orlando Pirates. According to IDiski Times, Mngqithi stated, “It’s very good for a team like Pirates to be in the group stages and for South Africa to have two teams in the Champions League group stages.”

“A South African team can then start to optimize their chances of winning the Champions League, and it would be great if both teams could advance to the quarterfinals.”

“Once we’re there, anything can happen. It would be nice if we lose and the pirates win, or if we win and the pirates lose, just like Zamalek SC has been doing with Al Ahly.”
