Ipswich Town: David Lowe becomes caretaker manager of Blackburn Rovers.

Former Ipswich Town forward David Lowe is currently the temporary manager of Championship club Blackburn Rovers. Following John Eustace’s move to Derby County, the 59-year-old has taken interim leadership of Rovers and has won two of his first three games in charge. Lowe has been with the Rovers since 2011, serving as head of the junior program before joining the first-team coaching staff in 2017. He has been a member of the setup ever since, working as an assistant to different managers at Ewood Park, including Tony Mowbray and Jon Dahl Tomasson. His one-match spell as Derby interim boss saw the Rams beat Manchester United 1-0 in the League Cup semi-final first-leg in January 2009. The Liverpool-born Lowe played for Town between 1987 and 1992, where he netted 44 goals in 159 games during his tenure at Portman Road. He also played for the likes of Wigan Athletic, Port Vale, Leicester City, Wrexham and Rushden & Diamonds. According to the Lancashire Telegraph, Valerien Ismael, the former manager of Barnsley, West Brom, and Watford, is the current frontrunner to become Blackburn’s next permanent manager.
