Kieran McKenna shares his greatest memory at Manchester United, one win under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was ‘pretty special’

Now that Manchester United’s 2-2 draw at Everton is almost over, Ruben Amorim is getting ready for another crucial match.

At Goodison Park, United played horribly in the first half but came back in the second to draw 2-2.

After United was eliminated by Bruno Fernandes and Manuel Ugarte, Amorim is currently getting ready to play Ipswich Town.

United would expect to win this game because the Tractor Boys are in a true relegation struggle.

However, this is uncertain given their recent struggles to defeat Southampton in the Premier League and Leicester City in the FA Cup.

Kieran McKenna on his finest night at Manchester United.

Kieran McKenna will make his comeback to play against United.

Before taking over as Ipswich’s manager in 2021, the manager was employed at United under Jose Mourinho, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Ralf Rangnick, and Michael Carrick.

Last summer, United expressed interest in McKenna, who was being considered by Ineos as a potential Erik ten Hag replacement.

McKenna became one of the most sought-after coaching properties in the nation after leading Ipswich to consecutive promotions.

McKenna remained with Ipswich, but following their quick ascent, it was always going to be difficult to keep them afloat in the Premier League.

After reflecting on his time at United, the Northern Irishman has identified his favorite memory from his time at Old Trafford.

McKenna told the East Anglian Daily Times that defeating Paris Saint-Germain in the 2019 Champions League was a “pretty special” moment.

Marcus Rashford scored an injury-time penalty as United pulled off a stunning comeback, winning 3-1 in Paris after trailing 2-0 in the first leg.

Given the difficulties United has faced since then, that night seems like a lifetime ago, but McKenna obviously remembers it well.

On how Manchester United inspired him, Kieran McKenna

After working under numerous managers at United, McKenna was also asked who his biggest inspiration was.

Having worked under Solskjaer for the longest time, McKenna stated that he had his “deepest connection” with him.

But Carrick, who left the coaching staff to take temporary leadership of United after Solskjaer left, was McKenna’s greatest motivation.

After a trial run of form, Carrick, who is now in charge at Middlesbrough, is feeling the heat.

However, McKenna paid respect to Carrick prior to Wednesday’s match, demonstrating his appreciation for his efforts.

This season, Axel Tuanzebe has drawn interest from Ipswich, and the defender is expected to return to Old Trafford.

The former United defender will be prepared to return after serving a suspension against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.
