Leeds United have been ordered to make a decision on Daniel Farke’s departure because to ‘disrespectful’ Carlos Corberan connections.

Carlos Corberan Leeds United Daniel Farke

Carlton Palmer believes Leeds United should not sack Daniel Farke and calls ties to Carlos Corberan “disrespectful”.

The Whites are apparently keeping an eye on West Brom boss Farke, who is under pressure to gain promotion back to the Premier League at Elland Road this season (Sunday Mirror, September 22, page 72).

Although Football League World commentator Palmer believes Leeds were interested in Corberan in the past, he does not feel the Whites should replace managers should they fail to get promotion this season.

In an interview with Football League World on Monday (September 23), he stated, “I don’t know where all this noise is coming from. I know there was an interest in Carlos Corberan before they appointed Daniel Farke.”

“Corberan came out and indicated that he wanted to stay at West Bromwich Albion at the time, but if there was interest, they would have done so when Daniel Farke was coming in.

“I believe that is insulting. Daniel Farke led them to the play-off final, and while many are sad that they were not promoted last season, he had a lot of work to do and earned 90 points.

“If he scores 90 points again this season, they will be promoted.” Unless he is in a position to get Leeds promoted, which means automatically finishing first, second, or in the playoffs, there should be no debate of Daniel Farke losing his job.

“There is a very long way to go. I expect Leeds United to be shaken up near the conclusion of the season.”

Will Leeds United fire Daniel Farke amid Elland Road leave rumours?

Leeds United fans have expressed unhappiness with the team’s poor start this season, although it would be unfair to blame Farke alone.

The German watched three of his greatest players depart Elland Road during the summer transfer window, and while some big names have come to replace the loss, they will always need time to adjust.

Leeds haven’t exactly been playing free-flowing offensive football, but they have been scooping up points, and they are still within touching distance of the top of the league at this stage of the season.

Leeds United manager Daniel Farke

There has been no evidence to suggest that the former Norwich City player is unfit to lead his team to the Premier League. Corberan has begun the season brilliantly at The Hawthorns, but is he truly a better manager than Farke?

Hopefully, Leeds will stick with their manager and only consider a change if they really slip out of the top six in the coming months.
