Matheus Cunha sends message to Wolves fans after latest defeat to Aston Villa

Aston Villa overcame Wolves on the weekend at Villa Park, continuing Wolves’ dismal run of play.

Gary O’Neil is under increasing pressure now that he has lost four of his first five Premier League games.

With the matchups, fans knew it would be a difficult start. However, it has been disconcerting to watch Wolves take the lead in several games and fail to finish them off.

Wolves had leads against Villa and Newcastle, but lost both games in the second half.

It’s definitely a difficult time. O’Neil, nevertheless, is adamant that everyone stay in the dressing room together.

It will be crucial for Wolves to start the season strong with players like Matheus Cunha. Following Saturday’s loss, the Brazilian had a brief message for the supporters.

Wolves were always going to find it hard to pick up points in the opening weeks of the new season.

But Wolves have been competitive in games and should now be sat on more than just one point.

At the moment, it seems like there could be a mentality problem. Because it has been notable how much Wolves drop off in the second-half of games.

O’Neil must find a way to get some points on the board soon, and former Molineux full-back Andy Thompson feels that there should be a change of approach, and that Wolves should become grittier and more ‘horrible’ on the pitch.

Wolves at least have Cunha in decent form, with the Brazilian scoring his second of the season at Villa.

Cunha cut a frustrated figure at times on Saturday, and he no doubt shares what the fans are feeling right now.

He was one of the only players to send a message to fans after the defeat to Villa, writing on Instagram: “Without many words, work will always be paid. See you in the next.”
