Gary Neville says 24-year-old Aston Villa player is truly ‘electric’

Gary Neville praised Moussa Diaby, the attacker for Aston Villa, after the team’s 1-1 draw with Sheffield United on Friday.

At Villa Park, in the opening Premier League meeting of matchweek 18, the relegation-threatened Blades were outmatched by Unai Emery’s Villaans.

Even though they were superior, Villa had to fight back late to tie the score after Sheffield United took the lead on 87 minutes.

After defeating John McGinn on the byline, Cameron Archer, a former Villa star, was set up for a close-range goal by Gustavo Hamer’s low pass into the area.

The Villans were looking at defeat, but in the 97th minute, Nicolo Zaniolo broke through with a nice heater after an excellent ghosting run.

Neville praised Diaby and Leon Bailey at halftime because they were both active in and around the box and had multiple good opportunities to score.

He stated on Sky Sports, “Diaby and Bailey pose a serious threat.” “They are extremely dangerous, especially Diaby who is electrified.”

The 24-year-old didn’t manage to get on the scoresheet, however, often being too hesitant in the final third and not making the most of openings.

Along with Lucas Digne, Diaby was substituted by Jhon Duran and Alex Moreno in the 74th minute.

The France international is an excellent player, but recently he hasn’t performed up to pace. He seeks for the pass and is selfless, which is admirable, but he should shoot the ball more often.

Furthermore, a lot of his best plays are wide plays rather than midfield plays. After Christmas, we’ll see whether Emery tries to play him wide.

On Boxing Day, Villa’s next game is against Manchester United at Old Trafford, with a kickoff time of 8 p.m.
