Brilliant 14-word message from Eliezer Mayenda to Sunderland supporters following Middlesbrough’s victory at Stadium of Light

At the Stadium of Light, Eliezer Mayenda started up front for Régis Le Bris against Middlesbrough once more.

Following Sunderland’s victory over Middlesbrough in the Championship at the Stadium of Light on Saturday, Eliezer Mayenda shared a message with the team’s supporters.

With a beautiful back-heeled finish in the first half, Chris Rigg gave Sunderland the lead. The Black Cats managed to hold on to the victory, making it 15 points from their first six games. Under Régis Le Bris, Mayenda began the match in the center of the attacking position once more.

At the Stadium of Light, 42,781 supporters of the Black Cats witnessed the team’s match versus Middlesbrough. Prior to kickoff, the fan club This Is Wearside put up an amazing full-stadium display, which appears to have left an impression on the players.

Mayenda shared the following on social media following the game: “The team played well at home today. Fantastic ambience SOL. Follow along. The Spanish term seguimos means “we follow” or “we continue,” among other things.

Following their 1-0 victory over Middlesbrough, Le Bris commended his Sunderland players for how they handled their first loss of the Championship campaign.

It was challenging because, in his words, “I didn’t think the dynamic was broken after the first defeat.” “I thought the players were really engaged throughout the week and continued to show a desire to get better. We spent a lot of time discussing our desired gameplay and game model.

“We just had the final day’s preparation for this game, and they played a big part in that.” We had to find solutions to numerous issues during the challenging match, such as their overloading of our left side in the first half. I thought that in order to tackle these issues, our team wanted to collaborate. We had a very strong mentality, but they had the momentum in the second half because they wanted to score.

The Championship matches Sunderland will play next are against Watford at Vicarage Road on Saturday and Derby County and Leeds United at the Stadium of Light the following week. The Black Cats are presently second in the league, one spot behind the unbeaten West Brom and one point ahead of the Wearsiders.
