Luton Town told to be concerned about Watford FC star with “sublime” passing

Moroccan midfielder Imran Louza has been identified by FLW’s Watford fan commentator as the key man Luton Town should keep an eye on this weekend as the Hatters travel to Vicarage Road for the M1 Derby on Sunday.

Since joining the Hornets in 2021, Louza has been a vital member of the team in recent weeks and months, and his influence on their performances is currently greater than it has ever been.

In January of last year, the 25-year-old joined Watford on loan from French team Lorient after failing to secure a starting position during his first and second seasons there while the team was still in the Premier League.

He has been a revelation this season and returned to WD18 in the summer to play for Tom Cleverley’s team after the Ligue 1 team elected not to exercise the purchase option in his contract at the end of his brief stint.

This season, Louza has made 24 appearances from center midfield across all competitions. His efforts have been especially praised in recent weeks, as he has scored two goals and provided one assist in his past six league games, including a thrilling away victory at Sunderland earlier this month.

Even though their recent victory against Middlesbrough was their first in six games, Watford has had a patchy season as manager Cleverley takes his first serious managerial steps. Nevertheless, they are still very much in the running for the Championship play-offs in 10th position, three points from sixth.

Luton Town, the Hornets’ bitter rivals, must improve their performance immediately since Matt Bloomfield’s team is currently in the bottom three and has a serious chance of being relegated to League One for the second time this season.

After the Hatters won 3-0 in the rematch in October, Vicarage Road will host the M1 derby on Sunday. Our Watford supporter Justin Beattie has named Louza as the key member of his team Luton should be worried about this weekend.

Many fans would not have predicted Louza’s rise to prominence this season after his loan stint abroad last season, but manager Cleverley has trusted him, and he has developed into a player who has started in 18 of the last 21 league games at the base of midfield.

Following the Hornets’ 1-0 victory over Teesside, Cleverley was quick to heap praise on the 25-year-old, who has risen so high in everyone’s estimation at Vicarage Road that it was not surprising to see him wear the captain’s armband against Middlesbrough last time out after Moussa Sissoko was forced off due to injury at halftime.

“He has been great for us, and he is now stating that.

“To be honest, I had no idea to whom Moussa had given the armband! Naturally, it makes sense, but I was preoccupied with other things. He has led the group vocally and set a great example.

“I believe that every one of our midfield players is a valuable member of our team. Edo is adaptable enough to go up a line, Moussa is versatile enough to play on the right, and I have depth there.

“But as far as central midfielders go at the moment, Imran is right up with the best in the league.”

Given Luton’s difficulties this season and the intense character of the match, which should fit his relentless, autocratic style of play, it appears likely that Louza will continue in an equally impressive vein against them this Saturday.

The Hornets have benefited greatly from his return from relative obscurity at the beginning of the season to one of the first names on the teamsheet at this time. He will surely play a significant role in the upcoming months if they are to finish in the top six this season.
