‘I’ve been told…’ – Fabrizio Romano drops new Calvert-Lewin contract update at Everton

Dominic Calvert-Lewin contract update at Everton amid Newcastle United transfer interest.

Fabrizio Romano claims that Dominic Calvert-Lewin has not received a new contract offer from Everton and that nothing significant has changed in his circumstances.

The transfer specialist stated in his Daily Briefing column on September 22 that there have been no significant advancements on the striker’s Goodison Park deal, and a decision is still pending.

As the England international approaches the last ten months of his current contract, a number of teams are reportedly interested in signing him. Newcastle United is reportedly one of those clubs.

“There is nothing concrete or advanced yet in terms of a new Everton contract for Dominic Calvert-Lewin,” Romano said in his Daily Briefing. No significant adjustments are expected at this time; they will probably make a decision in the upcoming months.

“Many other clubs are also keeping an eye on his situation at Everton, so it’s not just Newcastle that is interested, but again, I’ve been told it’s not a topic for September for sure.”

Will Dominic Calvert-Lewin exit Everton amid Goodison Park transfer update?

Although Everton will be keen to get Calvert-Lewin’s contract situation resolved as soon as possible, the Toffees cannot afford to make any hasty choices at this point because there is still a lot of uncertainty surrounding Goodison Park.

As he prepares to sell his majority ownership in the Toffees, Farhad Moshiri has all but stopped being involved on Merseyside. It doesn’t seem likely that the Blues owner will be in a rush to award and pay a new, high-profile deal.

In the event if Goodison were to change ownership in the upcoming months, perhaps they would be more inclined to extend Calvert-Lewin’s contract offer in order to entice him to stick with Sean Dyche’s team.

Ultimately, the Toffees don’t need to rush their negotiations with their striker because the transfer window has closed and it will reopen in a few months.

Ideally, they will reach a new agreement before the January transfer market opens to prevent Calvert-Lewin from accepting a free transfer abroad.
