Daizen Maeda celebrates Celtic's equaliser against Club Brugge

Dazien Maeda saved a Champions League point for Celtic following Cameron Carter-Vickers’ disastrous own goal against Club Brugge. The Hoops knew a third home win would put them on the verge of the knockout rounds, but their horror began when Cameron Carter-Vickers inexplicably threw the ball in his own net.

Brendan Rodgers‘ team struggled to match the brilliance they displayed in their previous victory over RB Leipzig, with the Belgians dominating the first half in front of a sell-out crowd.

However, they applied some pressure after the break, and Maeda curled in a magnificent strike against the post to draw them level with Ferran Jutgla’s score for Brugge, which was later ruled for offside following a VAR investigation.
