Bucs schedule

Under Jose Riveiro, Orlando Pirates have developed into cup specialists, but they are eager to win a league title for the first time since they won the Betway Premiership twice in a succession in 2012. They started the Caf Champions League and MTN8 fixture congestion later than planned, but they made a winning start, defeating Chippa 2-1 despite falling down in a game in which club captain Innocent Maela made his 200th appearance. Tshegofatso Mabasa’s stoppage time penalty in the first half and Monnapule Saleng’s late game winner in the 95th minute were the Pirates’ goals. A magnificent volley by Andile Jali, a former Pirate, was negated by those goals. The following are the next three assignments:

  • Pirates vs Polokwane City, Tuesday, 24 September, Orlando Stadium, 15:00
  • Richards Bay vs Pirates, Sunday, 29 September, King Zwelithini Stadium, 15:00
  • Pirates vs Stellenbosch, Saturday, 05 October, Moses Mabhida Stadium, 18:00 (MTN8 final
