Everton settle on 1st choice to replace Dyche, did ‘Fantastic’ job at last club – report

According to HITC, Everton have identified David Moyes as their preferred candidate to replace Sean Dyche as manager.

On Saturday (September 21), the web outlet said that former Toffees manager Moyes is the leading candidate to succeed Dyche.

Dyche is under increased pressure after losing all four Premier League games this season and losing the EFL Cup to Southampton.

According to the article, Graham Potter was also discussed, but Everton’s management chose Moyes instead.

David Moyes will divide opinion among Everton fans

First and foremost, Dyche has a chance to save his job if he wins – or even draws – against Leicester City.

Defeat in that one, however, will significantly increase the pressure before playing Crystal Palace in a week – providing he is still in command.

It would be foolish for Everton officials not to be considering a succession plan, and Moyes appears to be the obvious choice given his Goodison affiliation.

Moyes has managed Manchester United, Real Sociedad, Sunderland, and West Ham (twice) since leaving Merseyside eleven years ago.

While he struggled in his previous three roles, he was a huge success at West Ham, even if he never fully won over the entire fanbase.

Alan Curbishley praised him for his “fantastic” work after he won the Europa Conference League and became a club legend.

The appointment would divide Everton fans, but it might be made sooner rather than later.
