Cowboys Playoff ‘Sugarplums’? Or Dak ‘Road-Trip Excuses’? Top 10 Takes

Dallas Cowboys Visions of Playoff ‘Sugarplums’? Or Dak Prescott ‘Road-Trip Excuses’? Top 10 Takes:

In sense, Dak Prescott is being honest about the Dallas Cowboys’ need for introspection without getting too caught up in it.

The Cowboys are 10-4 and postseason-bound, which is why always-optimistic team owner Jerry Jones can justify his visions of “sugarplums dancing” in his playoff head. But …

The Cowboys are 7-0 and outscore opponents by 24.4 points per game at home. … while on the road they have 3-4 record and double-digit-margin losses to Arizona, San Francisco and Buffalo this past Sunday.

As the Cowboys get ready for their Christmas Eve game against the 10-4 Miami Dolphins, Prescott says, “we’ve got to ratchet that (concentration) up a little bit… This is a squad that goes into every game prepared and ready, so when they hit the road, it can’t be any different.”

Meanwhile, Prescott candidly pointed out that determining the road vs. home distinction can be a difficult task not to be overly focused on.

“I don’t know if there is anything concrete, honestly,” he said. “Different things you could say, ‘Maybe it’s this, maybe it’s that.’ But at the end of the day. The type of guy I am, the conversations we have, they are all going to be excuses.”

Dak said: “What a great opportunity now … to get a chance to go out there and not necessarily redeem ourselves but pick our (bleep) up on the road and put a performance out there like we have at home and really moreso a performance that we know we’re capable of.”
