RESIDENTIAL ROAD ABLAZE: Huge Fire Rips Through Neighborhood, 70 Firefighters Scramble to Contain Inferno, Residents Flee for Their Lives

Ten fire engines and over 70 firemen were sent to Rosaville Road after a mid-terraced house caught fire, according to the London Fire Brigade.

Dozens of firefighters are battling a large fire on a residential street in West London. Shortly about 8.20 p.m., bright orange flames and smoke were spotted coming from a property on Rosaville Road.

The London Fire Brigade reported that the first story and top of a mid-terraced structure were on fire. However, it is clear that no one was inside at the time. Ten fire engines and approximately 70 firefighters were summoned.

LFB’s 999 control officers have received 29 calls regarding the fire. Firefighters from Wimbledon, Brixton, Park Royal, Peckham, Wandsworth, and surrounding stations are on the scene.

After sharing a video, Don Cochrane said, “Yes, everything was fine; the house was being renovated.” It follows the arrival of 100 firefighters to the scene of a three-story warehouse near Brixton Market that caught fire earlier tonight. Video shows a fire and a column of smoke rising into the sky, leading authorities to believe that people have been evacuated from the area. The fire on Electric Avenue, off Electric Lane, is currently being fought by firefighters.

The roads in the area have been blocked. 53 calls have been made to the Brigade’s 999 Control Officers regarding the issue since they were first contacted shortly before 9 p.m. Many people worry that the extreme heat wave currently affecting Europe could make the burning issue worse.
