Norwich City column: The biggest difficulty Johannes Hoff Thorup faces is getting the attack to gel ahead of the Watford test.
Someone far more deep than me once observed that the difference between anticipation and reality may generate an emotional rollercoaster, which seems appropriate in the early days of the Johannes Hoff Thorup period.
At times, it feels like there is an unhealthy expectation that with a youthful, forward-thinking coach, we would suddenly transform into a squad capable of swashbuckling displays that will lead to promotion in May.
However, building Hoff Thorup’s Jerusalem will take time. There will be many frustrations along the way, like as the dismal performance against Swansea last weekend. However, one defeat does not make us a terrible team; nor should it detract from the work being made to produce a side capable of playing an appealing style of football while also collecting results.
