Ed was a “hardworking and diligent” student who wanted to engage in the commerce industry, according to headmaster Philip Grutzner.

“His family has had a long connection to the school, with his great great great grandfather graduating from Melbourne Grammar in 1884, and subsequent generations through to the current day in later years,” according to him.
The school stated that its children’s well-being was still its top priority and promised to support the family in the days and months ahead.
“We acknowledge that everyone may react differently to this heartbreaking news.
We are using all of our experience to make sure that every student is supported and cared for as they deal with the death of their friend, and the school has a robust pastoral care program.
