Sunderland’s summer acquisition has praised an established Black Cats hero.

Sunderland’s summer signingWilson Isidor credits Luke O’Nien, a club legend, for assisting him in settling into his new role on Wearside.

The Frenchman joined Regis Le Bris’ first squad on loan from Zenit St. Petersburg, with an option to purchase. He has made two substitute appearances.

During a recent fan Q&A session, Isidor praised his new teammates, highlighting defender O’Nien as a key player on and off the pitch. He stated, “The team has a lot of skill. Luke O’Nien was a significant influence on my early life. The man seemed to be obsessed with the club. He is heavily active in the group’s activities both on and off the pitch. He is a huge leader. His quality had the most impression on me when I first arrived at the club.”

Isidor began his professional career with AS Monaco and went on loan several times until signing for Lokomotiv Moscow in Russia in 2022. Zenit signed the 24-year-old in the summer of 2023, and he has four goals in 26 appearances in all competitions since then.
