Phil Parkinson must unleash 'special' Wrexham player who can terrorise Crawley Town - The Wrexham Insider

Wrexham will try to go back to winning ways when they face Crawley Town on Saturday afternoon.

Phil Parkinson’s team suffered their first league loss of the season, when Birmingham City defeated Wrexham 3-1.

Celebrities such as David Beckham, Tom Brady, and Rob McElhenney attended the previous match, however this weekend’s event will not have the same celebrity presence.

Wrexham now leads the league standings with four victories in six games, while Crawley Town has lost three of their past four games across all competitions.

Parkinson aims to add to Crawley’s suffering at the STōK Cae Ras, with one player capable of causing havoc in their defense.

Why should Wrexham start? Sebastian Revan versus Crawley Town

Sebastian Revan has only made two starts for Wrexham since joining from Aston Villa this summer, but he has made a tremendous impact.

Parkinson has praised Revan’s versatility in playing as a left wing-back, right wing-back, and midfielder.

The 21-year-old has capitalized on his opportunities, scoring in a 4-2 Carabao Cup loss to Sheffield United and defending admirably in a goalless draw with Bolton Wanderers.

Revan has limited starting opportunities owing to competition from James McClean on the left and Ryan Barnett on the right.

However, Parkinson must start Revan on the left and shift McClean into midfield, maybe replacing Ollie Rathbone.

Revan provides Wrexham with blistering pace and attacking skill down the flanks, as well as plaudits for his defensive abilities.

The Reds lacked offensive desire and pace in their defeat to Birmingham. Parkinson praised the Englishman’s performance against Crawley and believes he should start this weekend.

Wrexham against Crawley Town Prediction

Wrexham have a perfect home record this season, winning all three league games, including emphatic 3-0 winners over Reading and Shrewsbury Town.

However, the Reds will face an unusual test on Saturday, as they must recover from a setback for the first time in a long while.

Parkinson will thus need a quick reaction from his players and continue their fast starts at home, where six of their nine goals have come in the first half.

Unlike Birmingham, Wrexham will hope to possess the majority of the ball and patiently wait for opportunities, whilst Crawley will seek to exploit the counterattack.

To put it simply, supporters will want to see an easy victory this weekend to get back on track, and with the roster of players available, it’s no surprise that expectations are high.
