EXCLUSIVE: Another Premiership club bank £1.2m in R&D tax credit amid Dundee United HMRC bill

According to the criteria, a club can only apply if its work advances a field as a whole rather than just their own business. The HMRC plan is intended to assist scientific and technological investigations.

After receiving £1.28 million during the fiscal year 2021–2022, United is facing a £600,000 return to HMRC, according to a report published by The Courier on Tuesday. The Tangerines have filed an appeal against the tax authorities’ ruling.

This came after the establishment of The United Lab in 2020, which was the idea of research chief Dr. Dan Parnell, sporting director Tony Asghar, recruitment chief Sean McGee, and performance consultant Ryland Morgans.

Today, none are connected to the club.
