‘Can still do better’ – West Brom boss sets challenge for key attacker

‘Can still do better’—West B Brom boss sets challenge for key attacker.

West Brom boss Carlos Corberan has said Tom Fellows can’still do better’ following their impressive start to the new season.

Following their most recent 3-0 triumph away at Portsmouth, West Brom is currently atop the Championship table after five games.
Fellows, 21, was called up to the England Under-21 team during the most recent international break, which piqued the Baggies’ interest.
According to a BirminghamLive story, Corberan stated: “It’s important, especially for young players, to have the right mentality.” Tom Fellows has the correct mindset to recognise where he is in the game and that, when we play well, there will be a lot of positive things discussed.

“Things change if, after three years, he isn’t receiving the assists. We discuss goals when a striker scored them. Four months after his injury, we may discuss the fact that he hasn’t scored any goals and that he missed three and a half of those months due to injury. We are aware of the nature of football.

He continued by noting that it was especially important for younger players to have the proper mindset. Tom Fellows’ philosophy appeals to me because it is unaffected by the hype around sports. He only needs to concentrate on improving as a player. To be the best player he can be, he still has a few things to work on.

Fellows will be happy that West Brom was able to hold onto him throughout the summer, as he has a very bright future there.

The Hawthorns are under no obligation to cash in on the attacker anytime soon because his contract there runs through June 2027.

He has spent his entire career to date on the Midlands outfit’s books.

Before making his debut in a Carabao Cup match against Arsenal back in August of 2021, the Solihull native was a regular at various different junior levels.

Fellows played 40 appearances for the Red Devils to get some vital experience, and then he was loaned out to Crawley Town for the 2022-2023 season.

He broke through into West Brom’s squad the following season and helped them get to the playoffs.
They lost the playoff series to Southampton after two legs, despite the young player’s five goals in 38 games.

What now?

Corberan will have to assist Fellows in keeping their feet planted during the upcoming months.

He will be crucial to the Baggies’ efforts to maintain their momentum and earn a spot in the Premier League.

This weekend, they will play their next game at home against Plymouth Argyle
