Southampton handed referee for Ipswich Town clash who was involved in ‘crazy’ incident last season.

The Southampton football squad has been informed of the officials for their pivotal Saturday matchup at St Mary’s against Ipswich Town.

Russell Martin is aware of the importance of the matchup with fellow recently promoted Ipswich, as Southampton is looking to win the league for the first time this year.

After drawing their previous two games, Ipswich has two Premier League points, whereas Southampton had not earned a single point in their first four games.

It will undoubtedly be a fiercely contested match at St. Mary’s, and a strong referee will be needed to keep things under control because of the game’s intensity and potential for outbursts.

Officials for Southampton’s game against Ipswich Town are revealed

Sam Allison will be the man in the middle on Saturday, according to the Premier League, with Scott Ledger and Mat Wilkes serving as his assistants.

Anthony Taylor has been appointed as the fourth official, with Jarred Gilled and James Mainwaring assigned to VAR duties.

“That wasn’t the plan at all; I had no idea he was going to be sent off. Sadly for Carlos, Carlos and I have both learnt a new rule.

“All I can say about Carlos is respect. It’s absurd; he wasn’t purposefully interrupting the play. He believed the ball had disappeared. That’s

After Southampton’s captain Jack Stephens challenged Alejandro Garnacho during Saturday’s 3-0 loss to Manchester United, referee Stuart Attwell was left with no option except to dismiss the team.

Having already missed Tuesday night’s Carabao Cup penalty shootout victory against Everton, Stephens will now be punished for the games against Ipswich and, at least, Bournemouth.

This suspension can be prolonged because the Premier League has charged Stephens again for allegedly using derogatory language towards referees following the red card.

Martin intends to start all 11 players against Ipswich this weekend because Southampton needs every advantage they can get over a team that is expected to be their relegation adversary.
