Orlando Pirates: 10 exits confirmed

Kapinga is released by Orlando Pirates

After joining the Pirates in July 2023, Lesedi Kapinga, formerly of Sundowns, has had a really hard time making an impression on the starting lineup. Despite winning the Betway Premiership three times in a row, the 29-year-old Sea Robbers player only played in eight league games the previous season. He last had ten or more league appearances in a single season in 2020–2021, when he had 12. He wears four Bafana Bafana caps. For the most of his elite career, Kapinga has been plagued with the moniker “super sub.”

1. Souiabou Marou 2. Fortune Makaringe 3. Siyabonga Mpontshane 4. Richard Ofori 5. Kermit Erasmus 6. Thabang Monare 7. Vincent Pule 8. Azola Matrose 9. Siphelo Baloni 10. Lesedi Kapinga.

Is Radiopane the next Mabasa?

22-year-old Boitumelo Radiopane returned to Pirates after a loan spell with Cape Town Spurs. The young striker made nine appearances in the league for the Mother City side last term and one outing in the Nedbank Cup. The Sebokeng-born forward is highly regarded by the Buccaneers and could feature in cup competitions this term. ‘Radioman’ also spent the 2022-2023 campaign with Spurs after top scoring in the 2021-2022 Diski Challenge with 24 goals. Can his prolific ways at the DDC level translate into goals on the senior side? We’ll be following his progress closely.

Pirates start their title charge soon

Orlando Pirates have become cup specialists under Jose Riveiro but they’re desperate to clinch a first league crown since 2012 when they won their second Betway Premiership crown on the trot. They have a delayed start because of fixture congestion across MTN8 and Caf Champions League involvement.
