Pundit says £50m-rated Nottingham Forest player he doesn’t like was ‘really great’ vs Liverpool

Pundit says the £50 million-rated Nottingham Forest player he doesn’t like was’really great’ vs. Liverpool.

Nottingham Forest defeated Liverpool 1-0 on Saturday at Anfield, upending the popular narrative.

Danny Murphy said that the tiredness stemmed from the Liverpool players’ need to travel the globe for their international assignments.

To put things in perspective, Forest has 13 of its own players competing all across the world, with Chris Wood taking centre stage for New Zealand on Wednesday night in America!

Despite the constant stream of excuses, Forest can finally look back on a strong start to the Premier League season with two victories and two draws from their four games.

There were some excellent performances on Saturday, and perhaps this will serve as a spark for Forest’s successful season.

Journalist says Forest player he doesn’t like did well on Saturday

This is quite a remarkable claim from the very reputable European football journalist, Gabriele Marcotti.

It’s a comment made about Anthony Elanga, the player who signed for Forest for £15 million from Manchester United and registered 14 goal contributions last season.

He got off the mark in the way of assists for 2024/25 with a scrumptious delivery for Callum Hudson-Odoi to bag his first goal of the new campaign.

But, Marcotti isn’t a fan it would seem and whether that’s as a player or as a person remains to be seen.

He told The Gab and Juls Showt: “I don’t like Nuno and I don’t like Elanga, but his pass was great. Forest were really, really good and you have to give them credit.”

For Forest this season, Elanga has to score more goals and provide assists.

Now that he has played every game for a Premier League squad, it is critical for Elanga to keep moving this season.

He must make sure he attacks Forest once more and demonstrates why Newcastle is eager to sign the player, who is valued at £50 million.

When it comes to evaluating what the player brings to the table, it’s evident that his pace, which caused all kinds of issues the previous season, is his greatest attribute.

Jota Silva and Ramon Sosa are now patiently waiting in the wings, so Elanga needs to go forward and stop resting on his laurels.

When he’s on the football pitch, Elanga always has a smile on his face and exudes confidence.

He provided an explanation on Saturday for why Forest was so determined not to move him, and perhaps this season he will be able to have more memorable moments in the Garibaldi.
