Where UEFA ranks Celtic compared to Liverpool and Man City in new report on best-supported teams in Europe

Where UEFA ranks Celtic compared to Liverpool and Man City in new report on best-supported teams in Europe.

There is little doubt that Celtic supporters consider their team to be among the biggest and most well-supported worldwide.

Celtic’s global fan base continues to grow despite the fact that the Scottish football team doesn’t receive the same amount of international media attention as some of the teams from the top five leagues in the world.
Moreover, Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic Park attendance has been nothing short of remarkable.

Celtic is among the best-supported clubs in Europe, according to a UEFA report, which serves as evidence of this claim.

Celtic broke the 1m attendance mark in 2023/24

Celtic was one of just 16 teams in Europe to surpass the 1 million aggregate attendance threshold in the previous season, according to a UEFA research titled The European Club Talent and Competition Landscape.

The study states that Celtic’s total home attendance, divided into three groups, was 1,117,712.

Due to the 58,975 season ticket holders, 1,359,422 people attended Celtic’s Scottish Premiership game. More people watched the UEFA competitions than the domestic cup competitions (73,412).

This is a good achievement for a club from a country with such a small population as Celtic to become only the second club outside of the top five leagues to make the list.

What makes this even more impressive is that in 12th place, Celtic outstrip Premier League giants Liverpool (13th) and Man City (16th).

Celtic also defeated Marseille (15th) of Ligue 1, and Schalke (14th) of the second-tier Bundesliga, but they trailed Atletico Madrid (11th) and the Premier League quartet of Arsenal (10th), Spurs (9th) and West Ham (8th) by a very narrow margin.

These figures serve as even more evidence of how fantastic the Celtic fanbase is at supporting their club consistently throughout every competition, which has contributed to the team’s recent wins.
