‘Bad news’ – Millwall dealt serious injury blow for QPR, West Brom and more Championship fixtures

‘Bad news’ – Millwall dealt serious injury blow for QPR, West Brom and more Championship fixtures.

This Saturday, Millwall will visit QPR for a Championship London rivalry.

Josh Coburn, a summer acquisition for Millwall, will be out for six to eight weeks as a result of a calf injury sustained during the team’s Championship loss to Luton Town at The Den last Saturday.

Arriving at the London team on Deadline Day, the loanee from Middlesbrough had only played twice for the team since finalising his transfer. Before the international break, Coburn scored in his Millwall debut game against Sheffield Wednesday. However, he was substituted out after 34 minutes against the Hatters.

Neil Harris, the manager of Millwall, has now given the injury a six-to eight-week layoff. “Josh Coburn is going to be out for six to eight weeks,” he said to the South London Press.

Now for the bad news. We’re going to see how things work out over the next fourteen days. We chased after this player all summer. Now that we’ve finally brought him inside the building and he’s scored on his first attempt, it’s sad that we lost him.

That’s the category it fits under. It is to another person’s advantage when they lose. Despite playing exceptionally well when he entered, Macaulay Langstaff, in my opinion, was an extremely unfortunate player who never opened an account with the club. I have no doubt that he will score soon because it comes easy to him.”

It is a huge blow for Millwall that their star, Zian Flemming, lost to Burnley this summer. Kevin Nisbet proceeded to Aberdeen on loan to play after departing from London.

They were Coburn and club record signing Mihailo Ivanovic; however, the latter is currently also out due to injury. This weekend, Millwall, who were eliminated by Leyton Orient in midweek Carabao Cup action, will play QPR in the Championship.

Following the brief trip to Loftus Road, there are games against Cardiff City and Preston North End, followed by a difficult trip to top-of-the-table West Brom. Before the end of October, Coburn might also miss games against Swansea City, Plymouth Argyle, and Derby County.
