Even better than Jota: Celtic star was the real hero for Rodgers
On Saturday, Celtic easily defeated Dundee United 3-0 at Parkhead to secure yet another loping victory in the Scottish Premiership.
Ahead of their match on Sunday, the Hoops are 16 points ahead of Rangers, their rivals from Glasgow, in the standings and are on their way to winning a fourth straight championship.
With 21 attempts on goal overall, Brendan Rodgers will be pleased with his team’s dominance of the match and their persistent attempts to increase their lead.
Jota got his second start in the Premiership this season, and the Northern Irish head coach should be happy with his wing play as well.
Returning to Parkhead for a second stint, the January acquisition from Rennes started on the left wing, with Adam Idah in the middle and Hyun-jun Yang on the right.
After cutting in onto his preferred right foot, Jota, who had scored and assisted in his first two league games, scored again with a fantastic curling attempt.
Although his teammates let him down with their careless finishing in front of goal, the former Benfica dynamo also displayed his inventiveness from the left wing with four crucial passes and one “big chance” produced.
