Alan Brazil shares what he was told about Rangers and Dave King, ‘Shocking’

Dave King has no support on the Rangers board after pitching his return to Ibrox, Alan Brazil was told.

Speaking on TalkSPORT with Ally McCoist (17 September, 6:09am), the host revealed that he believed King had been barred from becoming a director.
Following John Bennett’s retirement for health concerns, King put his name in the running for chairman again, although Brazil questioned whether he would be able to accept the position.

He continued, “There’s another problem there, isn’t there? It’s stunning, isn’t it?

“From what I gather, and I could be wrong, I thought he was barred from becoming a director.” So I’m not sure how he’ll go back.

“He claimed he’d back the board; I don’t know Dave King, but I’ve been informed he has no support on the board.

“He said it’s chaos from the team up to the board, meaning the team – the manager – is chaos, so I don’t know if he’s doing him any favours, to be honest.”

Will Dave King become the Rangers’ new chairman?

Stability is critical at Ibrox in the aftermath of Bennett’s abrupt resignation as chairman, but it will be difficult to achieve regardless of who enters the picture.

Only a few days following that declaration, King appears to have faded as a possible replacement in Govan.

According to reports, important investors are rallying around the club in the boardroom [Chris Jack], with the former chairman expected to miss out on a seat at the big table.

With the club finally returning to Ibrox on Saturday, September 21, there has to be more good news after a difficult start to the season.

Things could not be worse right now, with the club missing out on Champions League participation, sitting third in the Scottish Premiership, and dealing with Ibrox upheaval and Bennett’s leaving.

These important investors are needed now more than ever, and hopefully they will make the correct decision to turn things around at Ibrox as soon as possible; it is needed more than they realize.
