Gyokeres to Man Utd ‘unlikely’ for three reasons as Ipswich man ‘more plausible’ for Amorim
According to a report from The Athletic, Manchester United is “unlikely” to sign Sporting attacker Viktor Gyokeres for three reasons.
Given Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee’s ongoing struggles, Ruben Amorim is anticipated to sign a new No. 9 during the summer transfer window.
With a total cost of almost £100 million, the two players have five Premier League goals this season.
After the team failed to make any notable player sales, there was a slight hope that Man United would sign a striker during the January transfer window, but that did not materialize.
Gyokeres, who excelled under the Portuguese at Sporting prior to the head coach’s transfer to Old Trafford last November, is obviously a player Amorim enjoys.
Gyokeres’ asking price, the likelihood that he won’t play in the Champions League, and the fact that “more appealing propositions” are “expected to enter the bidding” make it unlikely that he will join United at the end of the current campaign.
According to an article in The Athletic:
In every competition he has participated in, Kane has scored goals. However, he is “very happy and settled in Germany,” “would only leave Bayern for a Champions League team,” and is solely focused on “winning trophies” in Munich.
They believed that £15 million for Serhou Guirassy was “too much,” and that “meaningful talks” to get Ivan Toney from Brentford last summer did not take place because of his age (31).
Jamie Vardy of Leicester City and Dominic Calvert-Lewin of Everton are unexpectedly mentioned because Amorim can only sign an older striker if they are available for free.
