The four-goal forward limped off 35 minutes into last weekend’s 4-1 FA Cup win against Coventry after suffering a recurrence of the ankle injury that had sidelined him for the previous five matches.
“Thankfully, the ankle injury that he had a recurrence of last week hasn’t been too serious, so he’s going to be judgment call tomorrow,” McKenna said.
Conor Chaplin, a forward who has missed all of 2025, is still out of commission, according to the Blues manager.
McKenna stated, “He’s had a few little setbacks,” “You can acquire that if you have an MCL injury.Even when you reach the absolute end of your rehabilitation, there are still some motions or acts that can occasionally rekindle it.
“He hasn’t been able to meet that final hurdle, so this week he’s received a slightly alternative course of treatment to see if that would speed it up a little bit. Hopefully, he will rejoin the group the following week.
