PLAYERS VOLUNTEER TO BECOME COMMUNITY TRUST AMBASSADORS

During the EFL Week of Action, five Reading FC players have volunteered to serve as Community Trust

Ambassadors in a touching show of support for the neighbourhood. John Ryan, Joel Pereira, Jayden Wareham,

Andy Yiadom, and Harlee Dean have offered their services to support the important work that the Reading FC

Community Trust does.

The players met with Dave Evans and Sara Bradley, representatives of the Community Trust, to discuss their

ambassadorial responsibilities and potential community effect. The Trust’s programs, which include Social

Inclusion, Girls & Women’s Football, Coaching & Development, Disability Sport, Sports Participation, and Schools &

Education, were emphasised during the conference.

Throughout the season, the players will make appearances and share responsibilities as Ambassadors, actively

participating in all of these projects. They will participate in events, give verbal recommendations, contribute to the

media, and motivate others they encounter by being there.

Offering opportunity to people who might otherwise be excluded or disengaged is the main goal of the Community

Trust’s activities. Social inclusion is addressed by programs like the South Reading Education Hub, which provides a

secure environment for kids who find it difficult to learn in conventional classrooms. These programs assist young

people in learning new skills, gaining confidence, and reaching personal goals through food, sports, and music.

The Ambassadors will be able to use the club’s platform to make a big difference in addition to bringing attention to

the Trust’s activities. During the discussion, Dave Evans explained that “the badge carries weight” and that the

players’ involvement will further improve the Trust’s work.

In addition to making at least four appearances this season, each athlete will use their voices and appearances to

promote the causes they support. These Ambassadors will leave a lasting impact, whether it is through encouraging

girls and women to play football, supporting disability sport, or mentoring young people.
