Shocking footage of football fans in violent brawl released by police

After a friendly match, Stoke City fans got into a brawl at a pub, using bar stools and pool cues as weapons.

Video footage of the Stoke supporters fighting for over a minute in the Locomotive pub in Burton on Trent, with

bystanders fleeing for cover, has been made public by Staffordshire Police.

When the fight broke out in a lavatory, the inebriated supporters were watching Stoke City vs. Burton Albion.

Three fans pushed a man to the ground, kicked him in the stomach and bashed him with a bar stool, according to the

CCTV footage.

Eleven Stoke City supporters received suspended jail sentences and were prohibited from attending home games for

the remainder of the season.

After a trial in November, paramedic Michael Whittingham, 49, was convicted guilty, while ten of the thugs admitted

to violent disorder.

All of them received curfews, two-year suspensions, and prison terms of eight or ten months.

One man on the ground was attacked by three men.

Whittingham received a £1,200 fine, and both were ordered to pay £120 in compensation.

Judge John Wait, who sentenced them on Friday at Stafford Crown Court, stated: “This offence primarily involved

men who were watching football.”

Their inability to manage their temper caused them to snap and engage in violent acts.

Although they didn’t on that particular day, these defendants are capable of displaying maturity, responsibility, and

restraint.

Stoke fans brawled each other in Burton.

According to the court, the disturbance happened at 4:45 p.m. after a fight in the pub restrooms.

The disturbance that started with Noel Edwards hitting Philip Divers in the restrooms seems to have involved two

different groups, according to prosecutor Hunter Grey.

“The pub was damaged, and during the incident, pool cues, pool balls, and stool were used, thrown, or used as

weapons.”

“These offenders were traced and brought to justice after a very thorough investigation,” said Chief Inspector Tony

Lungrin, who leads the Staffordshire Police Football Unit.

These eleven men were aware of their actions and the risks they were taking. We should applaud their sentences.

This would have been a terrifying experience for other patrons of the bar that afternoon or in the surrounding

neighbourhood, and they shouldn’t have had to go through it.
