Hearts granted 50/50 Rangers ticket split but Aberdeen denied equal share for Celtic Scottish Cup semi-final

A 50/50 ticket split has been given to Hearts for their Scottish Cup semi-final matchup with Rangers. Aberdeen, meanwhile, has been thrown out of their request for an equal share versus Celtic.

It was confirmed today that champion Celtic would play the Dons at Hampden on Saturday, April 20, at 12:30 p.m., in order to complete their crown defense. Just over 24 hours later, Treble-chasing Gers take on third-place Hearts, scheduled for a 3pm kickoff

Chiefs at Tynecastle were inconsolable by not being allotted half of the stadium for the Viaplay Cup semifinal matchup with Rangers the previous year and had requested a far larger allocation this time around. Their request has been approved by the SFA, provided that Rangers receive any unsold tickets.

According to a Jambos statement, “the club proposed yesterday to guarantee Hearts supporters the chance to buy seats in Hampden’s North Stand by securing an equal share of tickets.” With the magnitude of our opponents’ fan base and the huge ticket sales for the semifinals, we had to present a compelling case for our position.

As a result, we are overjoyed to announce that our proposal was approved and that Hearts and Rangers will each receive a 21k ticket allotment to sell to their respective fan bases. We express our gratitude to the Scottish FA for their invaluable support during this process.

“This presents the ideal chance for Steven Naismith and our players to enter the Hampden field and find a sea of maroon, dispersed all around them.”

“As many Hearts supporters as possible are now welcome to come and, ideally, enjoy a memorable day out. It is in our best interests to sell out and show the team the kind of support for which Hearts fans are renowned because one of the terms of this arrangement is that the club will pay the cost of any unsold tickets from our allocation.”
