Season-ending injury could have just impacted Arne Slot’s title chances at Liverpool
It is anticipated that injuries will have a significant impact on the Premier League title contest.
Arne Slot’s team is playing well right now, with Joe Gomez the only notable absence for Liverpool due to the
defender’s injury sustained during the Reds’ defeat to Plymouth Argyle over the weekend.
Curtis Jones has been cleared to play in Wednesday night’s match between Liverpool and Everton, while Trent
Alexander-Arnold has a minor injury.
When it comes to their fitness, Arsenal, the Reds’ title rivals, have not had the same success. Since December, the
Gunners have been without their star player, Bukayo Saka.
Since then, Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Martinelli have been added to the North London team’s list of injured players.
Additionally, Mikel Arteta suffered yet another serious injury while in Dubai, which may have contributed
significantly to Liverpool’s victory in the Premier League.

Kai Havertz injury and Liverpool win could end Arsenal’s title hopes
Liverpool travel to Goodison Park on Wednesday night knowing that a win over Everton will increase
their gap to Arsenal at the top of the Premier League to nine points.
Position | Team | Played | Won | Drawn | Lost | For | Against | Diff | Points |
1 | 23 | 17 | 5 | 1 | 56 | 21 | 35 | 56 | |
2 | 24 | 14 | 8 | 2 | 49 | 22 | 27 | 50 | |

The news from Dubai may have put an end to any chance of Arteta’s team retaliating against the Reds,
and that may be a fatal blow to the Gunners’ title aspirations.
Given the other absences in their forward line, this is a serious setback for Arsenal, as it leaves Arteta with
few options as some important games approach.
Kai Havertz was linked to Liverpool prior to his 2020 transfer to Chelsea, and the Merseyside team’s
choice to let go of the German international is turning out to be wise.
Liverpool made the correct Kai Havertz decision in 2020
At Bayer Leverkusen, Havertz was one of Europe’s top prospects going into 2020, and Chelsea made a
move because of the German’s skill.
Liverpool was among the teams interested in the German player because he appeared to be Jurgen
Klopp’s squad’s logical replacement for Roberto Firmino.
Given that Havertz’s career hasn’t yet reached the heights anticipated prior to relocating to England,
things might have turned out differently for him had he went to Anfield.
Despite scoring the game-winning goal in the 2021 Champions League final, Havertz did not perform well
at Chelsea, and despite a few strong games with Arsenal, the German has struggled recently and had a
lacklustre season at the Emirates Stadium.
Havertz still has many years to prove himself to the football world, but the past five years have validated
Liverpool’s decision to keep him away from Anfield.
