Rangers three-man signing plan revealed

The recruitment team at Rangers have highlighted three positions that need to be improved over the summer transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.

In preparation for the 2024–25 campaign, the Ibrox club is looking to add a new striker, central midfielder, and left back to their roster.

This summer window will mark Philippe Clement’s first as the team’s manager after he took over for Michael Beale in October 2023.

With two points separating them at the top of the Scottish Premiership standings, the Gers are poised to qualify for the Champions League, which will adopt a Swiss format the following season.

According to Football Insider, Rangers’ summer transfer budget would increase by £20 million if they qualified for the Champions League.

Rangers are reportedly looking to sign a new left back because Borna Barisic’s contract is set to expire this summer, and he is expected to depart the team.

Philippe Clement hopes to sign three summer league contracts with the Rangers.

Ridvan Yilmaz’s future is also uncertain as a result of strong rumours that he will leave in the January window.

Due to the summer contract expirations of Ryan Jack and John Lundstram, Rangers may also find themselves lacking in midfield depth.

On Monday, March 11, Football Insider disclosed that negotiations with Lundstram on a new contract have reached a standstill.

When Kemar Roofe’s contract expires this summer, he could also leave Ibrox as a free agent, giving Clement’s team room to add a center-forward.
