Blackburn Rovers loanee returns to Ewood Park amid Motherwell surgery blow, Wolves talent knee issue monitored

Motherwell has released injury information for loanee players from Blackburn Rovers and Wolves.

Blackburn Rovers loanee Jack Vale is poised to miss more Motherwell action with injury, while their Wolves potential is also being evaluated.

Over a fortnight after Stuart Kettlewell resigned, the Fir Park side is still without a manager, with Stephen Frail serving as caretaker.

They meet Ross County at home this weekend after a two-week hiatus due to additional time off following their elimination from the Scottish Cup.

Injuries have decimated the team this season, but Lennon Miller’s return to full training has provided a significant lift. He has been sidelined with a foot ailment for more than a month, but he could now be in contention for the Staggies match.

Jair Tavares has also returned to the squad to provide more attacking depth. There is disappointment for Blackburn Rovers loanee Vale, who has undergone Achilles surgery and is back at Ewood Park. In his second Motherwell loan term, he has only played six games owing to injury, and he was sent off in his penultimate league match against Hibs.

Wolves loanee Marvin Kaleta suffered a knee injury against Celtic and is being evaluated before the weekend. Steve Seddon and Ross Callachan have also been sidelined for extended periods of time, while Apostolos Stamatelopoulos is still working to recover from a calf ailment.

Archie Mair underwent surgery for a fractured hand, while teammate keeper Aston Oxborough is currently out with a thumb injury. A club statement reads: “Lennon Miller and Jair Tavares are back in full training ahead of our encounter against Ross County at Fir Park on Saturday, February 15th.

“Apostolos Stamatelopoulos is recovering from his calf injury. Jack Vale has returned to his original club to have surgery on an Achilles issue.
