Everton look at new transfer already as Vitalii Mykolenko update emerges

Carlos Alcaraz was loaned to the Toffees during the winter transfer window, but they were unable to add any more players before Deadline Day.

David Moyes, who may have preferred additional midseason additions, will not be pleased with The Friedkin Group.

With few new opportunities to pull one over on the Reds again, Goodison Park will host its final Merseyside derby against Liverpool on Wednesday, February 12.

Everton already set for brand new transfer

A new left-back is already on the agenda in the summer transfer window, according to TEAMtalk.

The news outlet reports (10 February) that Everton are looking at different targets to bolster their backline in the coming months.

Vitalii Mykolenko has been the first choice at the Blues for years now, but the Blues are looking to add better cover in that department.

Ashley Young’s contract at Everton expires at the end of the season, and it remains to be seen what the future holds for him.

David Moyes will want big summer spend

The left-back position has been one that evidently needs strengthening, considering the Ukrainian defender’s inconsistency at times with little support. Young is also not getting any younger, and the 39-year-old may be playing the final months of his career. Moyes will arguably want more signings at Goodison soon after TFG’s rather tame spending in the winter window, which sets them up perfectly. The Friedkins must be confident that the Scotsman can retain their Premier League status, as they seem to be already planning for the summer. While the Toffees have a nine-point gap with the relegation zone, there’s still a long way to go in the current campaign.

With Wolves and Leicester City chasing them in what will surely be a close relegation battle, the Blues will be cautious as their 2-0 loss to Bournemouth in the FA Cup on Saturday, February 8, will serve as a reminder that they have won three straight games in the English top flight. The Merseyside team cannot afford to let their foot off the gas and be overconfident of avoiding the drop.
